They leave no room for hormones, fatigue, work, family, the niggle that won't quite settle, or the simple fact that your life is already full.
So when the plan starts to feel impossible, it's easy to believe you're the problem. You're not.
You just need a plan built for who you are now. Whether this is a goal you've chased for years, or one you never quite believed was yours to reach.
Your body. Your life. Your finish line.
By Kerry Fitzgibbon, Marathon Girl®. A lifelong runner. 60+ marathons, 45 of them through perimenopause and menopause.
If you know, you know
The "easy" run that left you flat for two days.
Being the slowest in the group, and quietly hating it.
Doing everything the plan asked, and still ending up hurt. Or just done.
The goal you have carried quietly for years, and never quite believed you would reach.
None of that was you falling short. It was a plan that was never written for who you are now.
Here's the truth
Sometimes we never know how far we can go, because no one ever built us a plan that believed we could.
Women in their late forties, their fifties, their sixties are crossing finish lines they once thought were closed to them. Not by pushing harder. By training in a way that finally fits who they are.
I'd know. I've run my whole life, and over 60 marathons, 45 of them through perimenopause and menopause. I didn't get there by pushing harder as my body changed. I got there by learning to train with it, not against it. Your finish line isn't behind you. It might be the one you simply haven't started toward yet.

The invitation
Running Sister is nearly ready, with training plans for both the half and the full marathon. Before it opens to everyone, I'm looking for 30 women to run with it first.
Real phones, real lives, real runs, so you can tell me what works and what doesn't before anyone else sees it. Everyone who applies joins the Founding Sister list. Whether or not you're picked to test, you keep your place on it.
Full access through the beta, in exchange for your honest feedback.
Every Founding Sister keeps her launch price for good when we go public.
Not picked this round? You stay on the list and get the app before anyone.
When you're ready for the how
Not a gentler version of someone else's plan. Every decision is built on what the research shows about women's bodies after 45, and on more than 60 marathons of running it myself, 45 of them through peri and menopause. When you're ready for the detail, here it is.
Runs are set by time, not distance, so a gentler pace is never punished with extra miles. Easy means easy, at whatever speed your legs want today.
Strength is built into your week, not bolted on when you remember. It quietly protects the bones, tendons and muscle that change after 45, so a small niggle has less chance of becoming the injury that stops you.
Recovery is written into the plan, because that's where your body gets stronger. Taking it counts as part of the work now, not a gap in it.
Focused training days, shaped to sit alongside work, family and everything else you carry. Enough to reach the start line ready. Not so much that getting there takes over your life.
The shape of a week: four focused training days, strength built in, recovery that counts, all shaped to your distance, half or full.
An honest word
Who's behind it
I'm Kerry Fitzgibbon, Marathon Girl®, and I've run my whole life. But when perimenopause arrived at 45, the way I'd always run stopped working. So I changed. I had to change my mindset. I had to be kinder to myself. I had to listen more. The running didn't end. It changed. So I built a plan that changed with me.
I've run over 60 marathons now, 45 of them through peri and menopause. And because I've been a runner my whole life, I know the thing most women never get told. When you start later, or come back after years away, and a plan built for someone else leaves you struggling, it's easy to decide you're the one who can't. You're not. The plan was never built for your body. I know that. Most women don't. Running Sister is me handing you what I know, written as a plan you can run.
Because Running Sister was never only an app. It's a sisterhood. Women who've done it before you, beside you for every mile.

Apply to test
There are 30 testing spots, and I want the group to reflect the whole sisterhood: every kind of phone, every fitness level, every stage of life. So not everyone tests, but everyone joins the list. Tell me a little about you.
Free for testers. A place on the list for everyone.
Before you ask
Both. There are plans for the half and the full. Choose your distance and the plan is built around it. Not sure yet? Tell me on the form and we'll work it out together.
You don't have to be fast, and you don't have to be running regularly yet. You just have to be ready to start, and willing to build, step by step. The plan meets you where you are.
You stay on the Founding Sister list and you'll be one of the first to get the app at launch, at pricing locked in for life. Nobody who applies loses their place.
Free for the 30 beta testers, in exchange for your feedback. Founding Sister pricing for everyone on the list at launch. Public pricing will be higher.
Both. Just tell me which you have on the form.
After the beta wraps. Founding Sisters hear first, before any public announcement.
